The World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report 2025 shows a challenging environmental panorama for the next 10 years.
The main risks include extreme weather events, which are intensifying. Secondly, the loss of biodiversity, which is key to ecological stability. Thirdly, the collapse of ecosystems and critical changes in terrestrial systems, the effects of which could be irreversible.
Added to this is an imminent shortage of key natural resources such as water, minerals and essential materials.
These challenges not only threaten environmental stability, but also put communities at risk, leaving millions of people extremely vulnerable.
The report highlights that, without immediate action, the global future will be scarred.
